Welcome to R.C. Longan Elementary School, home of the Lions!  It is our mission to invest in each child’s academic, social, and personal development by providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for ALL students.  We have an exceptional teaching and support staff that work tirelessly to ensure every child’s potential is achieved.

In addition to our exceptional staff, we have a community filled with parents, families, and stakeholders that support all of our students.  Our theme this year is “Build...Create...Connect!”  We are eagerly anticipating the groundbreaking of our new school in 2024 and we will continue to work with our community to provide a stellar learning environment for our students.

You, as parents, are the most critical part of our students’ success.  You take an active and crucial role in providing an atmosphere that promotes education and quality work habits.  Your support provides the foundation for students to come ready to learn.  I strongly encourage you to be an active part of your child’s education by:

• making sure they get to school on time and attend school regularly. School begins promptly at 8:10 AM.  Excessive tardies and absences can add to countless hours of missed instructional time.

• ensuring that your child reads for at least 20 minutes each night. Reading development is essential to every subject.  Practice makes perfect!

• speaking with your child about the importance of learning. Attitude is everything!  We want all students to be willing and ready to learn every day.
